Learn to Row

Session will include

  • Overview of the sport of crew
  • Rowing terminology
  • Learning the different parts of the racing shell and how they work
  • Basic boat maintenance
  • The fundamentals of sweep rowing in an 8 and a 4
  • The role of the coxswain and how to cox
  • Full body conditioning, strength and cardio - what it takes to be a rower
  • Beginning competition racing
  • What to expect at a regatta
  • The discipline required to be a rower
  • Please bring/wear: running shoes, sunscreen, and water bottle

Ages 12 - 18 | 2 week sessions
Monday-Friday | 8-11am
Session 1 | July 11 - 15 & July 18 - 22
Session 2 | August 1 - 5 & August 8 - 12
$200 per session

No Experience Required! No minimum fitness level but participants may be expected to run a mile at their own pace or row 2000 meters on a rowing machine.
