February Member of the Month, Kelsey W

What brought you to Island Rec? I joined the Island Rec a few years ago when I wanted to get back into lap swimming. My mom recommended the Island Rec as she does water aerobics at the pool and loves it! 

What is your favorite part about Island Rec? My favorite part about the Island Rec is the people. All the employees are so welcoming and supportive as well as the members. I've made so many friends through the Island Rec pool. 

 What is your preferred type of exercise here? I love swimming at the lap pool, but would love to explore other parts of the Island Rec this year. 

Do you have a favorite local restaurant? There are so many! Hudson's, Smokehouse, Up the Creek, and Nunzio's. 

Where were you born? Mukwonago, Wisconsin. I moved to the area in 2019 to complete my Recreation Management degree. 

Do you have any hobbies? If so, what? Aside from swimming at the pool, I love open water swimming on the island and doing open water swim events. I also enjoy running, biking on the beach, and bringing my family dog Jax to the beach!
