What brought me to the Island Rec. I need to take care of myself by exercising in the pool daily! It helps my neuropathy and my lymphedema swelling. It's the most relaxing exercise for my body, and I’ve been trying to focus on my health so much more.

What is your favorite part about Island Rec? Island Rec has brought me wonderful friendships by meeting people in the pool. I also love the music they play. It’s very relaxing.

Where were you born? I was born in Hoboken, New Jersey. It was a great place to live. We were right across from New York City so we would take trains, buses, or our car to get to Manhattan and the village. It sure was an amazing place to live. Later on after we got married, we settled in a town called Manalapan. We lived there and then moved to the Jersey shore Point Pleasant beach. We love being by the water. 15 years ago we bought a two bedroom condo on the island and we are finally enjoying living here 3/4 of the year and still traveling back to Jersey for family. Our two sons have moved to Bluffton in the last three years and they both work together in sales with Delta roofing company.

Do you have any hobbies? If so, what? I’ve always played tennis and love bike riding, but because of health conditions, I’m not able to do that so this place is my favorite...

Do you have a favorite local restaurant? We love going to Crazy Crab for happy hour and also Old Oyster factory.
